Luton Airport

Situated 51 km North-West of London, Luton Airport carries over 10.1 million passengers per year, with many of these passengers travelling on regular routes operated by national and international airlines, including budget carriers such as Easyjet and Ryanair. Luton Airport serves many European cities including Paris, Amsterdam and Barcelona.

Luton Airport by train

A shuttle bus operates between the Airport and the railway station (Luton Airport Parkway), with the journey time being just 8 minutes. From there, First Capital Connect offers regular rail services to a number of central London stations including:

  • King's Cross
  • Farringdon
  • London Bridge
  • Blackfriars

Trains run day and night, typically taking about 45-50 minutes. A standard single ticket costs around £10.90.

Luton Airport by bus

EasyBus offers a cheap, frequent express bus service central London and Luton Airport. EasyBuses circulate 24/7, stopping at:

  • Brent Cross
  • Finchley Road Station
  • Baker Street
  • Marble Arch
  • London Victoria

Tickets are from £2 one way, but prices can vary according to demand. Allow for a £12 return ticket if you book online, but the further in advance you book, the cheaper the fares. EasyBus is chartered by Greenline (see the EasyBus website for more details).

The Green Line 757 bus service departs from Victoria Coach Station and stops at:

  • Brent Cross
  • Finchley Road Station
  • Baker Street
  • Hyde Park Corner
  • Marble Arch

The route runs 24/7, with departures every 15-20 minutes during the day and every half hour in the evening. Journey time is roughly 1hr15minutes, but this can increase during peak traffic times.

Luton Airport by taxi

You can find usually a queue of taxis waiting for customers at Luton airport. Ask for the fare price in advance to fix a rate. Typical fares to central London are between £70 and £80.

Only use reputable mini-cab companies and never use unauthorised drivers (each car must have their license displayed on the windscreen).

Luton Airport for Disabled Passengers

First Capital Connect recommends that passengers in wheelchairs should call at least 24 hours in advance to make travel arrangements, phone: +44 (0) 800 058 2844.

Provided you book over 24hrs in advance, EasyBus can happily take passengers in wheelchairs. EasyBus Tickets can be booked online, but passengers can send an e-mail to the website, with responses due within 24hrs. You can also seek assistance at the EasyBus service counter at the airport.

On the Luton Airport route, Greenline has five buses that can accommodate wheelchairs, but it is important to notify them in advance, tel +44 (0) 870 608 7261.
